A former Angus Ambassador will be using his expertise to help choose the winners of this year’s awards as the deadline approaches.
John Forster, of Forster Energy Solutions, won the Ambassador Award in 2009 and hopes to encourage potential entrants to enter.
He advised: “Year on year there are new projects, enterprises and people that achieve and inspire and it is always encouraging to review Angus’ talent.
“The judges are looking for projects and initiatives that stand out. The best tip if you want to become a finalist is to give the judges clear reasons why you should win and provide as much evidence as you can to support these reasons.”
He continued: “It’s really worthwhile entering for an award because as we found out, winning projects and organisations get great publicity.
“It doesn’t stop at the awards either as organisers are looking at ways that winners can benefit beyond the ceremony if they want to, through Provost visits, mentorship opportunities and speaker opportunities at industry and community events in Angus.”
Champions chosen from Angus leaders and former winners will decide on The Angus Ambassador of the Year Award, sponsored by Forster Energy Solutions. Other categories include the Business Award, sponsored by Enterprise North East Trust; Community Award, sponsored by Voluntary Action Angus; International Award, sponsored by Forbes of Kingennie; Tourism Award, sponsored by Piperdam Golf and Leisure Resort and the Youth Award, sponsored by Dundee and Angus College.
