Angus heat for SkillBuild at college

ANGUS College was been selected to host the Scottish heat of SkillBuild 2013, the UK’s largest multi-trade competition for construction trainees and apprentices.

The competition, which is managed by CITB, the Sector Skills Council and Industry Training Board, as part of its ongoing work to bring new blood into the construction industry, is an annual event that sees budding construction trainees pitted against each other in their specialist skill.

The host colleges are selected on criteria including facilities, expertise in the construction field and showing real enthusiasm for the competition.

The Scottish heat took place yesterday (Thursday) and is one of 15 regional heats across the UK.

The highest scoring competitors in the regional heats will have the opportunity to compete in the national final, which takes place later this year.
