Formal announcement has been made that last year’s highly successful inaugural Barry Buddon Half Marathon will return again this summer.
It will take place around the path network at Barry Buddon with a 12 noon start on Sunday, August 30, so plenty of time to dig out the running shoes and break the legs back in.
As with last year, Alan Lawson will be leading the same organising committee and entries started being taken last month with around 120 already signed up. There will be a maximum of 525 entries for this year’s half marathon and those interested can sign up via ‘EntryCentral’ at www.entrycentral.com
Last year just under 300 runners from across Scotland took part and although times may have been down because of the considerable heat the event was adjudged a great success. Gents’ winner was Scott Martin of Kilmarnock Harriers in 1:16:20:02 and ladies’ winner was Jennifer Emsley, Central AC, 1:19:42.
