ARBROATH High School’s Charities Committee were out shaking their buckets at the weekend in aid of cancer research.

The volunteers from the High School were collecting donations at Arbroath Tesco to help Cancer Research UK on Friday and Saturday afternoon.

Lynn Coull, a teacher from the school’s additional support needs department said: “As part of the charities committee we are doing our bit to help Cancer Research UK.

“The charities committee is constantly raising money for different good causes.”

The bucket collections were a success with the volunteers raising a total of £306.89 which will be donated to Cancer Research UK in due course.

Lynn added: “It was fantastic, these girls were just amazing and they absolutely loved it. They really got an awful lot out of it and they would love to do it again.”
