AN ANGUS-WIDE annual art festival has launched the brochure detailing the events on offer.
For the third year running Angus Open Studios will see local artists opening up their places of work from May 23 to 27 to give the interested public a glimpse into what they do and how they do it.
The brochures for the 2013 season were delivered to Angus Council ACCESS offices, libraries, galleries and museums and the information is also available to download from www.angusopens tudios.com
There are 24 artists from Arbroath, Carnoustie, Monifieth and the surrounding districts and 11 venues will be opened up to the public in those areas.
In total 57 artists in over 30 venues will demonstrate their passion for art in every conceivable medium, from painting, to handcrafted jewellery to pottery and everything in between.
Fran Marquis, chair of Angus Open Studios, is keen to see the people of Angus get involved with this year’s celebration.
She said: “Some of the participants are new exhibitors, some at the beginning of their artistic careers in addition to the well-known names who have been Angus Open Studios stalwarts since its inception in 2011.
“The Open Studios network offers a great opportunity to visit artists in their own studios, see them at work and perhaps have a go yourselves, plus, if you don’t see exactly what you are looking for, you could commission an original piece of work.”
