There was good news for Arbroath last night (Thursday) after it was revealed that this year’s fireworks would be going off with a big bang!
The Fireworks for Arbroath group have expressed their delight and gratitude after an 11th hour push saw them hit their Crowdfunder Angus target of £2000.
Their campaign winds up tonight (Friday) at around 8pm, but donations will still be taken as the group have been allowed to stretch their target to £2500.
It was with less than 24 hours to go that the last few hundred pounds were brought in and the announcement was made on the Fireworks for Arbroath 2015 Facebook page.
Karren Cuthill, Fireworks for Arbroath, said: “We’re all just delighted that the target has been reached. This means that our fireworks supplier will give us an additional £1000 of pyrotechnics for the display.
“We would like to thank all of our sponsor businesses - The KoKo Bean, Blackadders LLP, and Q-Ticlez & Tan’z, all of our pledgers, the Arbroath Herald, and all of the people who have supported us during this campaign.
“As a result we have been able to stretch our crowdfunding target to £2500, so you can still donate. We want to put on the best show we can for the people of Arbroath.”
