AN ARBROATH couple held a very successful barbecue last weekend to raise money for an Armed Forces charity.

Despite the poor weather around 100 people attended the fund-raising barbecue for ‘Help for Heroes’, hosted by Carey and Grant Allen at their home in Highfield House, Woodville.

Carey said: “I would like to thank everyone for their generosity and in particular those who gave raffle prizes, including the star prize of a mountain bike from EMC Heating and Plumbing.

“Many thanks also to kind traders, Robertson Butchers, Falconer Butchers, Pie Bob and Tesco for supplying goods free of charge for the barbecue.”

Grant added: “Alongside the bootcamps over the last six weeks, a total of £1,700 has been raised for this essential charity and I thank all who have participated and donated to this cause.”

Under the guise of Associate Personal Trainers Carey has been running a fitness bootcamp with her business partner Wade Bowen at Inchcape Park training a team for the Tough Mudder Challenge held at Drumlanrig Castle in Dumfriesshire last weekend.
