The new British Heart Foundation (BHF) Scotland Arbroath Volunteer Group raised a total of £1,453.68 for the charity with the help of local businesses and a quiz night held in The Royal British Legion Scotland hall on Friday.
Helen Anderson, chair of the Volunteer Group, said: “The support from local people to the local business, Arbroath out-patient department, clubs and groups who were fund-raising has been amazing, and we would also like to thank all the generous donations from businesses and members of the public providing fantastic raffle prizes for our quiz night.
“The support of The Royal British Legion Scotland members and their ladies’ section has been invaluable. We appreciate everyone’s help and dedication.”
She concluded: “By engaging in events like this, you are helping our life-saving and life-changing work to continue. We’re fighting for every heartbeat but we can’t do it without you. BHF Scotland’s life-saving work can only continue thanks to vital donations of time and money.”
