A LOCAL gallery is set to auction off two unique pieces of art in aid of the local Cancer Research UK fund-raising committee.

The auction is set to take place on Thursday (April 25) and will see the two special pieces go to the highest bidder at the Resin Art Gallery on Arbroath High Street.

Gallery owner and artist Gail Knight produced both pieces with one of them especially designed in the colours of the Cancer Research UK logo.

The auction has an open invitation with other items auctioned off before the main lots of the two pieces of art.

There will also be a raffle with all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK and wine and nibbles will be served.

The gallery will be open leading up to the auction with anybody interested in the art work to pay a visit to look at it more closely.

Anyone unable to make the auction, which begins at 7 p.m. but wants to make a bid can contact the Cancer Research UK committee chair Alana Loudon on alanaloudon@hotmail.co.uk.

The auction is just one of a series of events that have been organised by the committee to raise money for the cancer charity.

Earlier this year they hosted the biggest ever New Year’s Day Dook at the Lifeboat shed. And in September they will be hold their showpiece event, Relay for Life.
