Specsavers Arbroath has teamed up with celebrity Kimberley Walsh and anti-bullying charity Kidscape to find the next spectacle wearer of the year.
The Girls Aloud singer and West End actress is the face of Specsavers ‘Love Glasses’ campaign and launched the competition recently which will see one lucky winner walk away with £10,000 in cash and a dream holiday to the Bahamas.
Jamie Buchan, store director at Specsavers in Arbroath, said: “We know that people in Arbroath love their glasses and we want to celebrate it. The Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition gives us the opportunity to prove that glasses are fabulous at any age by celebrating the specs wearers right on our doorstep who wear them with pride and plenty of style.”
Last year Maureen Fairweather and Jacqueline Cargill from Arbroath were chosen from hundreds of entries from across Scotland to become regional finalists in the 60 plus category.
Other categories include: 16-24; 25-39; 40-59 and 60 pus, as well as a Facebook favourite voted for by the public.
A winner from each category will receive a VIP makeover and will attend the celebrity-studded grand final in London in October.
