ARBROATH street pastors were out in force last month and they have been heartened by the response they have been getting.

The group, which started on July 2, aims to help revellers enjoy their night out in safety, tour the night spots of Arbroath dispensing water to the thirsty and flip-flops to the foot-sore.

Co-ordinator Elisabeth Cunningham said: “We’ve had a really good response. It’s been really heartening.

“I want to stress that we are nothing to do with the police. We’re just there to listen, care and help, so feel free to say hello and ask about us.”

Anyone interested in becoming a street pastor can contact Elizabeth at arbroath@streetpastors.org.uk.
