INTREPID Arbroath Scouts are venturing even further afield this year as part of the Christmas Post duties.
This year, the Arbroath Scout group is working in partnership with their Carnoustie counterparts to deliver there as well.
Every year through the hard work of the Scouts and the generosity of card-senders the Christmas Post helps to raise funds for Scouting in Arbroath, while at the same time providing a public service.
The postboxes will be operating from today (Friday) until Friday, December 14, and they will be delivered over the weekend of December 15 and 16.
The cost is 20p per card and is only available for addresses within the Arbroath and Carnoustie town boundaries, also, remember to write the full address clearly on the envelope.
Brian Findlay, Arbroath and Montrose District Scout Support said: “This is a major fund-raiser for the Scouts and last year was another record year for the number of cards delivered.
“I would hope that this year we can again count on the support of the people of Arbroath for this very worthwhile service which offers users a considerable saving compared with normal post.”
Post boxes will be operating in the following locations: Arbroath Library; Morrisons; Tesco; Asda; Co-op Abbeygate; Co-op Mayfield; Co-op Timmergreens; Co-op Kirkton; Brown’s Pet Store; Marlyns Hairdresser; Cafe Barista, High St; Keptie Newsagents; Warddykes Primary School; Spar, Brechin Road; Andy Stewart Court and Scout headquarters on Keptie Road.
