Rotaractors reach the summit to raise money for charity.

Intrepid hillwalkers from the Arbroath Rotaractors set out to conquer five Munros on a sponsored walk of the Ben Lawer ridge on Saturday (June 7).

The six young walkers trudged for 10 hours and were delighted with their achievement, albeit a little sore and sun burnt.

Raising money never far from their minds, the group even managed to russle up a collection at the top of one of the summits.

During the walk they also witnessed a helicopter rescue of an injured climber.

A days hike and all for a good cause as all the money raised is to be shared between Guide dogs and Alzheimer’s Society Scotland.

They were guided throughout the walk by veteran climbers Alex Thomson of Inverkeilor and David Batty a member of South Queensferry Rotary.

Last year they climbed Ben Nevis for charity and are now thinking about a challenge for 2015.
