Arbroath will officially be a Fairtrade town for at least another two years after its latest application was successful.
The Arbroath Fairtrade Action Group have worked hard to raise the awareness of Fairtrade and on Thursday morning, chair Mary Reid received the good news.
The town had already received Fairtrade status but had to reapply to keep their title.
Mary said: “We have offered different things to raise awareness like a Fairtrade wine tasting event,Fairtrade stalls and working with churches and schools to gain the renewal.
“The group has had a wonderful first year as part of a Fairtrade town, with great successes and we now look to the action plan for the coming two years.
“We want to say a big thank you to the people of Arbroath who have given support and purchased and used Fairtrade products.
“Remember with your purchases you are giving a hand up not a handout.”
