Arbroath retailers and residents teamed up this week for phase two of the town centre clean up and already plans are being made for phase three.
On Tuesday evening the Arbroath Town Centre Retailers’ Association (ATCRA) was joined by members of the public for phase two of their clean up project which saw them clean the decorative bollards in the pedestrian zone which had been neglected and become unsightly.
Chic Grant, chair of ATCRA, was delighted by the turnout with around 18 or 19 shopkeepers and citizens taking part.
He said: “I’m over the moon about it. It was a fantastic turn out. We want to extend a big thank you to everyone who helped. If you go up there now you can see the difference, it’s amazing.
“I think it was a fantastic team effort and it’s quite heartening to see the support that is there for us.”
The group has big plans for phase three already. Chic explained: “The next thing is to appeal for anybody with a portable power washer to help us out on the next part of the clean up. The flagstones on the street could do with being power-washed.”
