Every year, Arbroath Round Table play host and dinner ladies to some of the town’s senior citizens.

The first part of the night is a meal which was once again kindly provided by The Azzurro Italian Restaurant in Arbroath with the dessert being donated by Asda.

Proprietor of The Azzurro, Anca Marcantonio said “Cesare and I are delighted to provide a hearty Italian meal to Arbroath Round Table and the pensioners they play host to each year. It’s lovely to give something to the community.”

After dinner had been consumed, it was on to the games where challenges over carpet bowls, dominoes, Jenga and putting, amongst others, took place.

Arbroath Round Table chairman Jamie Buchan said: “The pensioners were just beaten 13-11 but it came down to the last Jenga tower to decide the match! We look forward to this games challenge each year as it kicks of our season of pensioners’ events. The next one is at Gayfield to watch Arbroath v Stranraer.

“We still have some places for pensioners to come along so feel free to get in touch. This is a great day out for those who maybe don’t have much opportunity to get out or don’t have family in the area to make new friends.”

Anyone interested in coming along to the match can get in touch with Jamie on 07786 036470.
