Both Arbroath lifeboats were launched last night (Sunday, May 15) to assist Police Scotland and HM Coastguard in an incident close to the Horseshoe at the town’s cliffs.

A request for assistance was received shortly after 10pm and the volunteer RNLI crew quickly launched the all-weather and inshore lifeboats, arriving at the scene within minutes.

The matter was brought under control by Police Scotland officers and the lifeboats stood down, returning to station at approximately 11.30pm.
