A LOCAL animal charity has launched an emergency appeal to get back on the road after their much needed car was damaged in an accident.

Darryl Beach, from the group Easy Walkers who care for dogs when their owners are unable to, was driving the charity’s car between Arbroath and Forfar on Friday when it was involved in an accidental collision with another car.

Fortunately nobody was hurt and neither was the dog in the car at the time but the vehicle is unrepairable.

And now Darryl and his colleague, Jackie Lonie, who run the charity, have launched an appeal to raise funds for a brand new car.

Often the charity have to travel around Angus to care for dogs and say a car is a vital part of their job.

Darryl explained: “We are appealing to anybody who can help us get back on the road as it is vital we have transport.

“A lady from a taxi company in Arbroath has donated her car to us for a month but we really need something for after that.

Anybody who can help Easy Walkers in their appeal should contact 07518559707 or 07763842449 or email
