Angus students meet Sir Chris

ANGUS College National Certificate sports students recently went on a trip to Manchester, which included a visit to Alton Towers and, more importantly, the Manchester-based National Cycling Centre, for a two-hour BMX session on the National BMX track.

Better still, two lucky Arbroath students had their picture taken with British Olympian and cycling legend Sir Chris Hoy, who is based at the cycle centre and is in full preparations for the London Olympics.

The students were accompanied by staff members Chris Simpson, Sarah Ramminger and Dave Travis, and the trip was fully funded by the students themselves and through raising money, which included completing a sponsored 10-mile run.
