Lots of us watched the televised debates between the various party leaders as each of them attempted to tell us why their particular party is worthy of our vote on May.
But what about our local candidates? How well do you know the people who are asking you to send them to Westminster? Have you had a proper opportunity to quiz them about their stances on the key subjects?
With that in mind, St. Andrew’s Church, Arbroath, is to host a hustings on Tuesday, April 28, at 7.30pm. With one possible exception, all candidates have confirmed that they will be in attendance.
St. Andrew’s minister, the Rev. Martin Fair, said: “We’re looking forward to a lively evening of debate and our hope is that this hustings event will be a great help to members of the public as they decide how to cast their vote on May 7.”
Questions can be submitted in advance to firstname.lastname@example.org or handed in to the church office in a clearly marked envelope, open 9 a.m. to 12 noon every weekday.
Should time allow, questions can be asked on the night. If you are unable to attend the evening, a live feed is available online via the church’s website, www.arbroathstandrews.org.uk.
