Angus gets its own ‘Open Doors’ art

ARTISTS, craftsmen and designer-makers in Angus are urged to take note that Angus has now set up its own Open Studio event, in May.

Following the success of previous Open Studio events throughout the country whereby artists and craftsmen open their studio space to the public, a group of keen artists and artisans has formed a committee to get this event off the ground in Angus.

This is the first time Angus has held this event independently and the dates, May 26 to 30, have been chosen to avoid clashing with other such events.

As the closing date for applications is March 7 there is some degree of urgency for those interested.

The fee charged will allow applicants to take part in the event under the umbrella of Angus Open Studios, and also see their details published in a widely distributed booklet which will include a map, and give them access to their own updateable web page on the AOS website, with links.

Other benefits of taking part include having a market for one’s work close to home, the chance to share ideas with visitors, and to network with the Angus creative community.

It is also hoped that there will be other events throughout the year as part of this scheme.
