Members of Tayside Aircrew Association met at McDiarmid Park, Perth, on Thursday when the oldest member, Len Trevallion of Crieff, was congratulated on the occasion of his 99th birthday earlier in the month.
Guest speaker Gavin Davey, chief executive of Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance based at Perth Airport, gave an account of his Royal Air Force career followed by a comprehensive overview of the work of his organisation as an integral part of the Air Ambulance service.
He revealed that during a six month period, the single helicopter had completed a total of 167 missions in this vital service.
President Arthur Gordon presented Gavin with a cheque for £100 as a donation to this worthwhile charity.
The next meeting will be a festive lunch with ladies on Thursday, December 12, at McDiarmid Park.
