A WOMAN had to be cut from her car on a busy Arbroath thoroughfare this week.
On Wednesday afternoon at around 3 p.m. a black Vauxhall carrying three people struck a pole on the A92 immediately before the Elliot roundabout.
Police are investigating how the car came to leave the road and finish straddling the Arbroath-bound side of the dual carriageway.
Two fire appliances were despatched to the scene and operations began to cut the female passenger from the wreckage.
The woman was removed from the vehicle on a spinal board and taken to Ninewells. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The male driver and a male child suffered minor injuries and were able to exit the car unaided.
Traffic heading to Arbroath was forced to turn back and take the Arbirlot road into the town.
