AN ARBROATH pub and a magician have teamed up to put on a day of family fun and magic to raise money for a national children’s charity.

On Sunday there will be a family fun day in the Corn Exchange on Market Place and local magician Michael Brandie will be there to entertain the crowds.

He will be performing his own brand of walk-around magic between 2 and 4 p.m. and there will also be face painting, balloon animals, cake sales and much more.

In his non-magical life Michael is training to be a mental health nurse and will qualify in September this year. He said: “I was asked to help out and I’m glad to be doing something nice for CLIC Sargent as I think it’s a good cause and it’s good to be involved.

“I’ve been doing magic for about 13 years. I saw David Blaine on the television and I was just amazed and thought it was something I needed to do.

“It’s just grown from there and I’ve done magic at weddings and big events like this.”

Michael popped into the office on Tuesday afternoon to let us know about the charity event and to also perform a little bit of magic for us.
