TWO YEARS ago Kirsty McCready raised nearly £4,000 for Hospitalfield Organic Produce Enterprise (HOPE), with a sponsored cycle run in Rajastan.
And on November 16 Kirsty, proprietor of the Star Inn, Friockheim, will turn her attention to the foothills of the Himalayas where she will undertake a sponsored trek for the same good cause.

Kirsty explained: "It is a six-day event trekking through rhododendron and evergreen forests, taking in Hindu settlements and isolated Buddhist Monasteries. The trek begins and ends in Dharamsala, where the Dalai Lama and the centre of the Tibetan Community are situated, at the heart of the world's highest mountain range.

"During the stay in Dharamsala there is the possibility of attending a public audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama."

You can sponsor Kirsty by going to www.justgiving.com/kirstymccready

Sponsoring can also be done by adding names to forms available from HOPE committee members, at the HOPE garden, or at the Star Inn.
