A FALCON with an appetite for seagulls and crows is being sought by her owner after making a bid for freedom about three weeks ago. And there is a reward of £100 for anyone who can assist with her safe recovery.
Bill Eaton, Little Denmark, said that his bird had been fitted with a transmitter which would have enabled him to find her, but she had picked the batteries out and it now does not work.

He explained: "The falcon is about the same size as a buzzard, dark coloured with a speckled white breast and is wearing leg bells.

"She can fly at 60 mph without hurrying, so she could be a lot of miles from Friockheim by now, but I suspect she'll be within 10 or 20 miles of her home, since there are gulls all over the place due to all the ploughing."

Mr Eaton added that she is not afraid of tractors or farm machinery and the first thing a tractorman might be aware of is when a dead gull lands next to his vehicle with a falcon attached to it!

Anyone who sees the falcon is asked to call 07913 653843.
