POLICE SEEK INFORMATION ON HANDBAG THEFT

POLICE in Arbroath are carrying out enquiries after a handbag was stolen from a 38-year-old woman outside the Abbeygate Shopping Centre's High Street entrance.
The theft of the black canvas handbag happened at about 10.55 to 11.05 on Wednesday morning (December 17).

Its owner had placed it on a ledge for a few brief seconds, but when she looked again, it was gone.

The bag, which has a shoulder strap, contained ablack leather purse which had a three-figure sum of cash, cards and personal papers, as well as a silver chain.
