FIREFIGHTERS from Arbroath raced to a flat in Stoneycroft Lane in the town on Wednesday at about midday, in answer to a report that there was a fire and someone was trapped inside.

They found that a pot of meat was on fire on a cooker.

A child had been playing with the front door lock and the door would not open.

The firefighters quickly released the child and put out the fire using a Co2 extinguisher.
