ANGUS Council has awarded seven grants totalling £12,433 in the latest round of allocations from the council's popular community grant scheme.
Locally, the council's infrastructure services committee on Tuesday approved a grant of up to £2,633 to Arbroath Lads' Club under-11s for equipment

Carnoustie and District Youth Brass Band has received £500 for tutoring and £300 has been awarded to Letham Village Hall for the installation of radiator guards.

Infrastructure services convener David May said: "During the past 12 months £161,000 has been awarded to community groups and projects across Angus through the Community Grants Scheme. The council is pleased to be able to support all of this work in recognition of the important contribution it makes to our communities - that is why an extra £20,000 has been added to the pot so over £200,000 is available for 2010/11."

More information is available at www.angus.gov.uk/externalfunding or by calling the team on 01307 473222.
