NOMINATIONS are invited for the 2008 Angus Ambassador Awards - your chance to reward a person, group, organisation or business that has helped put Angus on the map during the last 12 months.
This year is the 10th anniversary of these prestigious awards, which celebrate the outstanding achievements, talent and enterprise of the people, the communities, the businesses and the young people of Angus.
There are six categories in the 2008
Angus Ambassador Awards as follows:-
The Entrepreneurial Angus Award, which recognises companies that have demonstrated innovation, ambition and enterprise.
The Pride of Angus Award, which celebrates the people, the businesses or organisations who are helping to build stronger, more confident, more prosperous communities.
The Creative Angus Award, which highlights those people or organisations who encourage and promote the distinctive culture of Angus, whether through music, theatre, literature, dance, art, photography or film;
The GoAhead Angus Award, which rewards those people, groups and businesses who are raising the profile of Angus all over the world;
The Welcome Angus Award, which commemorates the fantastic contribution tourism makes to Angus and is open to groups or businesses that encourage people to visit the county;
The Aspiring Youth Award, which showcases those young people aged 25 and under who are shaping the future of Angus and inspiring other young people in Angus.
The Angus Ambassador Awards will be presented at a glittering award ceremony on Friday, November 28.
In addition to the six main awards, the Angus Ambassador of the Year Award will be presented to the finalist who the judges consider has been an outstanding Ambassador for Angus during 2007/2008.
And in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the awards, the Angus Ambassador of the Decade Award will be presented to the person, business or organisation who has best epitomised the spirit of Angus at home and abroad over the last 10 years.
