A REPRESENTATIVE of the Aberbrothock Skea Trust visited Arbroath Town Mission yesterday (Thursday) when a donation of £2,000 was presented by trustee Ian Townsend to Wanda Lindsay, day care manager.

Mr Townsend also met with the centre staff, volunteers and users.

The Mission Centre provides facilities in the interest of social welfare to support and improve the conditions of life for inhabitants of Arbroath. The grant money is to be applied towards the purchase of a replacement mini-bus with appropriate tail lift to ensure safe travel for the elderly to attend the daycare unit.

Mr Townsend commented: “The trustees of the Aberbrothock Skea Trust are very aware of the significant contribution made by Arbroath Town Mission in supporting the people of Arbroath and are happy to support the mini-bus replacement fund.

Wilma Swankie commented: “We are very grateful to the Aberbrothock Skea Trust for this substantial donation towards our mini-bus replacement fund. It now stands at £24,000, about half of the required £47,000.”

The trust is administered through the Arbroath office of solicitors Thorntons and continues to support charitable organisations throughout Angus and the east of Scotland.
