AN ANGUS charity has been recognised for it’s work with local communities.
Angus Association of Voluntary Organisations (AAVO), based in Arbroath, was awarded ‘Committed to Excellence’ status on Tuesday.
Depute provost, Councillor Peter Murphy, who presented the award, said: “It is always good to see voluntary organisations receiving recognition for their work, as they are an essential part of Angus life.
“In presenting this award I want to congratulate the staff and board at AAVO and wish them every success in the future.”
Mai Hearne, chief officer at AAVO added: “We are delighted to have achieved this award. It shows our ongoing commitment to supporting charities and groups across the county.
“In this, our 21st year, AAVO has again demonstrated the importance of providing first class services and we thank our members and colleagues for their ongoing support, which is invaluable in these challenging times for communities.”
