Success at weekend conference

OVER 100 writers from all over Scotland met to enjoy workshops, guest speakers and competition adjudications at the recent Scottish Association of Writers’ weekend conference at Erskine.

Eleven members from Angus Writers’ Circle attended the event and had a number of successes.

In the Under-Sevens’ Children’s Story, Liz Strachan won second prize and Ann Craig was commended. Liz was also commended in the Humorous Article and the Woman’s Short Story.

In the Fantasy Story, Grace Murray was highly commended and Maura Collinge commended.

Jan Strickland was highly commended in the Mini Short Story, with Eleanor Fordyce commended.

Eleanor also won third prize in the Drama and in the General Short Story.

Overall, it was a most enjoyable and successful weekend.
