Spring Concert rehearsals

PREPARATIONS begin this week for an Arbroath choir’s first big concert of 2013.

The first practice for Arbroath Choral Society’s Spring Concert will take place on Sunday (January 6) at 7.30 p.m. in St Andrew’s Church at 21 Hamilton Green.

The main work of the Spring Concert’s programme will be Mozart’s ‘Requiem’, a piece the group is familiar with having performed it a few years ago.

During their Christmas concert the choral society included ‘Lacrymosa’ from the ‘Requiem’.

As a contrast there will also be a number of famous film theme tunes included in the programme.

New members, especially in the bass and tenor sections, are always welcome, and anyone interested is invited to come along to the rehearsal on Sunday.

The choir offers a four week trial period for those interested and practice CDs are made for each part to aid preparation.

Rehearsals are conducted under the guidance of musical director Jane Miller and accompanist Alison Hart. For more information contact Jonathan Joyce on 01241 830475 or visit the website at www.arbroath.choral-society.net
