Awards presented at Arbroath clubrooms on Tuesday

MUIRFIELD Primary School has been presented with the Ian and Winnie Archer Trophy as overall winner of the annual Poppy poster competition organised by the Arbroath branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland.

And the Woman’s Section Trophy in the Christmas card competition was won by Timmergreens Primary School.

All the awards were presented at a ceremony in the branch clubrooms, Helen Street, on Tuesday evening. They were handed over by chairman Paddy Quinlan, and branch secretary Colin McDonald.

Individual prizes were won by the following:

Christmas cards: primaries one and two - 1, Olivia Strachan, Timmergreems Primary School; 2, Matthew Salmond, Timmergreems; 3, Grace Ritchie, Timmergreens. Secretary’s choice - Primary two, Ladyloan Primary School.

Primaries three and four - 1, A-Jay, Ladyloan Primary School; 2, Jack Bledowski, Timmergreens Primary School; 3, Breanna Lorimer, Timmergreens. Secretary’s choice - Keiana McAllan, Timmergreens Primary School.

Primaries five and six - 1, Tiegan Farquharson, St Thomas Primary School; 2, Brook Cassidy, St Thomas; 3, Abaigh McMenaman, Timmergreens Primary School,. Secretary’s choice - Nick Bremner, Timmergreens Primary School.

Primary seven - 1, Jaye Hamilton, Timmergreens Primary School; 2, Sophie Smith, Timmergreens; 3, Madison Johnston, Warddykes Primary School. Secretary’s choice - Michalma Marchewka, St Thomas Primary School.

Poppy Poster competition: primaries one and two - 1, Cameron Stewart, Muirfield Primary School; 2, Finlay Phillips, Muirfield; 3, Kieran McGonagle, Muirfield. Secretary’s choice - Charley Robertson, Muirfield Primary School.

Primaries three and four - 1, Christopher Haadma, Ladyloan Primary School; 2, Callan Johnston, Ladyloan; 3, Kieran Cooney, Ladyloan. Secretary’s choice - Kelsey Smith, Ladyloan Primary School.

Primaries five and six - Logan Swankie, Muirfield Primary School; 2, Holly Bennett, Muirfield; 3, Owen Ruxton, Timmergreens Primary School. Secretary’s choice - Ross Booth, Timmergreens Primary School.
