CULLEN Skink and a daily Arbroath Smokie dish will be on the menu at Darlings Coffee Shop in Arbroath throughout the Tartan Day Scotland Festival.

Restaurants, hotels and coffee shops will be offering special Tartan Day menus featuring traditional Scottish dishes made from the very best of local produce.

“The Tartan Day Scotland Festival, which runs from March 29 until April 7, celebrates the very best of Scotland,” said Councillor Mairi Evans, Angus Council’s economic development spokesperson. “So it’s very fitting that the festival will highlight the local, fresh, high-quality ingredients that play such a vital part in ensuring eating in Angus is such a highly-enjoyable experience.”

Eateries across Angus will be offering customers the chance to enjoy the flavours of Angus with a Tartan Day menu, such as the Victorian Kitchen Restaurant at Glamis Castle; the Drovers Inn, Memus, near Kirriemuir; and The Pear Tree Restaurant, Auchterhouse.

The Park Hotel and the Links Hotel, both Montrose, will also provide special lunchtime and evening menus.
