EARLY in 1987, local fishmonger, Ian Pert, 244 High Street, was among the first in the country to receive their own trade’s government backed accolade of excellence, the Seafish Quality Award.

The Seafish Industry Authority’s highly-prized award was presented only to those who measured up to stringent standards laid down by the authority and back by its own inspectors.
