THIS week’s ‘D’Ye Mind Lang Syne?’ picture shows three Airborne veterans of the Second World War striding down a sun kissed Arbroath High Street in June, 1948, on their way to the St Ninian’s Church hall, on Brothock Bridge.

They are, from left - Bob Russell, Arbroath butcher and former Sergeant glider pilot, and paratroopers J. Lindsay Duncan and Fred Jameson. Mr Russell is the only surviving member of the trio.

All three were members of the Aberbrothock Pipe Band and were on their way to band practise.
