Our thanks to Derek Robertson for this view of Arbroath Harbour from the top of the Signal Tower. The top shot is from 1905 and the bottom from 2011, when rare access to the top of the tower was available. Little has changed in the shape of the harbour in 100 years. The biggest changes have been the addition of the marina and the moving of the Black Shed in the 1930s from near the foghorn to the far quay. The nearside slipway has been extended and the storage shed has been rebuilt as the fishmarket. The old railway lines are also gone.
