STAGECRAFT School of Dancing held their first 'Childrens Revue' in the newly renovated Webster Memorial Theatre.
Students and audience members spent a happy fulfilling evening with pupils enjoying being able to entertain with a large crowd cheering them on.
Class one and two never fail to delight, whether they were dancing their first ballet steps, 'Rowing t
he Boat', 'In Space', devised by Lisa Wallace, or just hanging loose. With 'Mambo' by Jane Barraclough, they did their own thing and had a ball.
With great improvement showing in their dancing, class three, with their lively 'Sweetie Pop' ballet, performed with grace and style. In 'Music Hall Memories' they were very entertaining with different styles of dance.
Class four performed very well together. With their ballet choreographed by Doris Bowie, it flowed with lovely pictures and ballet steps. They tapped with energy and verve and were suitably eccentric with 'Tramps'.
Encouraged to do their own choreography, the 4.30 class's 'Dance Mayhem' was a credit to everyone. They sparkled in 'Fire Dance' and mastered the change of rhythms in 'Cockney Capers' with aplomb.
The '40s style of dancing to 'The Beguine' was elegant. They mastered the difficult choreography in 'Move with the Music' which was to their credit, and the 5.30 class shone with their own choreography named 'Beautiful Idiots'.
The seniors' 'Sweet and Lyrical' was performed beautifully, their graceful movement was a delight. Their own devised dance was bright, clever and full of pep.
In complete contrast 'Basic Strictly Come Dancing' showed the beginning of ballroom dance which they performed with style.
The different ages ranging through the tap only class gave a picture of different abilities. 'Endurance', in which only one step is used through the routine, was a great credit to the stamina and dancing of the senior group.
'All Aboard' was performed by the other two groups, each group shining and dancing happily together.
