This week's 'D'Ye Mind Lang Syne?' picture is a memorial to Arbroath's heyday as a busy fishing port.
It dates to June, 1953, and shows local fishing boats decorated to mark the coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.
As part of the local celebration, skippers took locals and tourists on trips to the Bell Rock and the Cliffs. Health and safety officials today simply would not permit it.
The vessel in the centre of the picture, AH 117, was the 'Dewy Rose', owned by Bill Smith, 26 Ladybridge Street. Also in the fleet preparing to sail are AH 93, 'Famous' owned by John Cargill, 29 High Street; AH 65, 'Sunshine', Hugh Swankie, 50 High Street; AH 63, 'Annie Cargill' Chae Cargill, 39 Hill Street; and AH 90, 'Utopia', Dave Swankie, South Street.
The attraction of a sail on one of the fishing boats is evident from the heavily laden decks and the number of people awaiting their turn around the quays.
